Florida Recreational Development Assistance Program (FRDAP) Grants Public Meeting

Project #1 for the FRDAP grant program - The City of Marathon is asking for approximately $300,000 for construction of a new concrete skate park located at Marathon Community Park 200 36th Street. The City of Marathon will complete the project over a period of approximately one year, including design, environmental review, permitting and construction. The City of Marathon is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the skate park at Community Park.  Staff will continue to maintain the facilities. Public comments on this project must be submitted in writing by October 1st, 2021. Email address covellim@ci.marathon.fl.us There will be a public meeting held at Marathon City Hall on September 30th at 5:00pm to discuss this project with the community.  All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting.  Please note that more than one Marathon City Council/Board/Committee member may participate in the meeting. Project #2 for the FRDAP grant program – The City of Marathon is asking for approximately $400,000 for planning and design at Rotary Children’s Park located in Marathon at 7575 Overseas Hwy. The City of Marathon will complete the project over a period of approximately 2 years, including design, environmental review, permitting and construction.  The City of Marathon is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of Rotary Children’s Park.  Staff will continue to maintain the facilities. Public comments on this project must be submitted in writing by October 1st, 2021. Email address covellim@ci.marathon.fl.us. The City of Marathon will complete planning and design over the period of a year. Once complete, the City of Marathon will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operation of the Grassy Key Birding Boardwalk Trail.  Public comments on this project must be submitted in writing by October 1st, 2021.
